A genuine well-known personality in the Strathroy community, Don has worked more than 700 hockey games all over North America and will referee at the 2006 winter Olympics in Torino, Italy. The professionalism and people skills that have served him so well in the NHL also give him an advantage to work for his good friend, Dale Wurfel, at the dealership: customers seeking new or used vehicles respond well to his easy, relaxed style and enjoy doing business with him. His winning approach has earned him the sales person of the month award many times. In his personal time, Don enjoys playing hockey and camping with his family in the summer. He is also deeply involved in Sunshine Dreams for Kids, organizes charity events and acts as a public speaker at various fundraisers. He organizes the annual Don Van Massenhoven Celebrity Ball Tournament that over the years has raised more than $226,000 for charity. He is executive director of the Jr. B Strathroy Rockets hockey team. Before launching his NHL career, Don worked as an OPP officer for 10 years.
